Attention ANSI-Accredited Standards Developers: 2026 Procedural Compliance Form Due by March 9

2/13/2026

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) wishes to remind all ANSI-accredited standards developers (ASDs) that the 2026 ASD Procedural Compliance Forum issued via email must be submitted to ANSI by March 9, 2026.

The 2025 ANSI Essential Requirements remains in effect without change and is available to view online: www.ansi.org/essentialrequirements.

A recording of the February 4, 2026, ASD Annual Compliance webinar, which includes a Q&A session about the ANSI Essential Requirements, is posted online with all other ANS-related webinars.

Review and Submission Process

By returning the 2026 ASD Compliance Form, individuals are confirming, on behalf of their organization, compliance with all provisions of the 2025 edition of the ANSI Essential Requirements. Please be sure that procedures fully comply and reflect current requirements before returning the form.

Failure to return a completed 2026 ASD Procedural Compliance Form by the March 9 deadline may jeopardize an organization’s status as an ANSI-accredited standards developer. To avoid this, and only if necessary, please request a filing extension before the deadline. Questions and extension requests should be directed to [email protected].

  • Please review the ANS pages on ANSI's website. These pages may be useful to an organization’s staff and those who participate in the standards development process. See www.ansi.org and select “American National Standards” (ANS) from the top bar. In particular, please note two paths that walk the reader through the ANS process: 1) General Public; and 2) Standards Developers. Please also review the updated ANSI-Accredited Standards Developer list.
  • Access guidance documents that address the ANS process. These are available at www.ansi.org/asd and through the “Resource Center” tab, by selecting “American National Standards;” ANS Educational Webinars are posted in a sub-folder at www.ansi.org/asd.
  • All ASDs are encouraged to regularly review the updated Lists of Approved and Proposed ANS. Regular review of these reports will support the timely maintenance of each ASD’s proposed and approved ANS, as well as assist with meaningful coordination efforts among ASDs. Specific updates to these lists may be sent by an ASD to [email protected]. Note that a direct link to these lists is also available on the Standards Action page, in addition to the 2026 ANSI Standards Action Publication Schedule.

ANSI thanks you for your cooperation and participation.
