NIST has announced a funding opportunity for U.S. colleges and universities to develop undergraduate and graduate curricula on standards and their role in domestic and global markets.
Offered through NIST’s Standards Coordination Office Curricula Development Cooperative Agreement Program (SCOCD CAP), the initiative will fund up to eight cooperative agreement awards up to $95,000 each in 2026. Recipients will work with NIST to strengthen standards education through seminars, modules, courses, and other learning resources designed to be reused and built upon over time.
The program welcomes proposals across STEM fields, as well as related areas such as law, public policy, business, and interdisciplinary approaches.
Who Can Apply?
Accredited U.S. institutions of higher education (IHEs), including those in U.S. territories, are eligible to apply. Applications may propose sub-awards or contracts with nonprofits, commercial organizations, or other U.S. IHEs. Federal entities cannot receive funding but may participate as unfunded collaborators.
NIST encourages applications from a wide range of organizations, and applicants with undergraduate and graduate degree programs are encouraged to collaborate with U.S. industry.
Applications are due by July 13, 2026. Full program details and requirements can be found in NIST’s news item and on grants.gov.
