Movers and Shakers

6/17/2026

Movers and Shakers highlights the career advancements and accomplishments of leaders in diverse areas of standardization, contributing to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance system.

Muhammad Ali has been promoted to standards and policy strategist at HP Inc., further strengthening the company’s expertise in global standards development, intellectual property, and policy engagement. In this role, Ali leads HP’s strategic engagement across U.S. and international standards ecosystems. He serves as the company’s lead representative to ANSI and primary representative to the InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS) Executive Board. He is also an active contributor to key industry organizations, including the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) and the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), where he collaborates with diverse stakeholders to advance technically robust, market-relevant, and globally interoperable standards. In addition, he serves on the advisory board of ASCET.

Ali is a Certified Standards Professional with more than 15 years of leadership in voluntary consensus-based standards development, conformity assessment, and emerging technologies within the consumer and electrical industry sectors. He chairs the ANSI Committee on Education and is vice chair of ANSI’s Company Member Forum.

His contributions to the standards community have been widely recognized, including honors such as the ANSI Next Generation Award, the ANSI George S. Wham Leadership Medal, the Standards Engineering Society (SES) Emerging Professional Award, the INCITS Chair Award, and the INCITS Service Award.

The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) recently honored Chris Kubasik, L3Harris chair and chief executive officer, with its Voice of Industry Award, which recognizes AIA advocates who utilize their platforms to support the aerospace and defense industrial base, workforce, and supply chain.

“Chris has been a strong and steady leader for our industry and for the Aerospace Industries Association,” said AIA president and CEO Eric Fanning. “Few are as dedicated to our nation’s security and the industrial base that underpins it as he is. As our chair last year, Chris was always generous with his time and perspective — whether engaging across the ecosystem or stopping by our office to share his insights and help guide our work. It’s that kind of leadership that makes him an asset for our industry and so deserving of AIA’s Voice of Industry Award.”
