The Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) will host a webinar that will provide an overview of best practices and ways to utilize its toolkit designed to help local governments prepare for solar development.

As IREC reports, large scale solar can be a great benefit to communities to help offset dramatic electric load growth due to rapid deployment of data centers, electrification, and large new industrial projects. To that end, local governments can prepare to access the benefits of solar and address community concerns through thoughtful planning and education.

IREC’s toolkit features resources and a checklist to make sure users are getting the full benefit of large scale solar and storage. The webinar will reveal best practices and ways to utilize the toolkit to lay the groundwork for solar success. The session will include remarks from solar experts, local government case studies, and more.
