The Below the Hospital podcast features host Garland-Rhea Grisby Sr., who examines the hype and fear with guest Salmaan Hameed, founder of BH2 Innovations. Hameed reports that sterile professionals cite workload pressure, staffing shortages, and the increase in device complexity as their top challenges.
Rather than replacing workers, Hameed notes that AI is more likely to complement human expertise in sterile processing. “When you combine the professional expertise of SPD (sterile processing departments) and AI…you can reduce the work fatigue a lot,” Hameed said.
