The rankings are in: The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Green Business Certification, Inc. (GBCI) recently revealed their annual list of the top 10 countries and regions for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rankings outside of the United States for 2025. While the U.S. leads in LEED adoption, mainland China ranked first in the overseas list, followed by India, Canada, the Republic of Korea, and Mexico.
GBCI noted increased adoption of LEED for operations and maintenance certification, reflecting building owners’ commitment to energy efficiency and transforming buildings into high-performing assets.
