How can America’s energy infrastructure evolve to support AI’s high-tech growth? In a recent Washington Times op-ed, Roger Miksad, president and executive director of Battery Council International (BCI), explores that question, focusing on batteries’ role in integrating new technologies into the existing grid.
“Proven energy storage technologies — particularly lead batteries, which have long delivered safety and reliability for critical infrastructure — are a necessary part of meeting the future of power demands of AI,” Miksad reflected.
He also highlighted the work of the Consortium for Lead Battery Leadership, a public-private partnership of manufacturing leaders and U.S. National Laboratories focused on improving storage capacity and reducing costs, particularly in stationary storage applications.
