ANSI Releases User Survey on Use of Standardization Roadmap for Unmanned Aircraft Systems

ANSI recently announced the release of a user survey to capture how companies, organizations, and agencies use the Standardization Roadmap for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Version 2.0), which was published by the ANSI Unmanned Aircraft Systems Standardization Collaborative (UASSC) in June 2020. Version 2.0 of the roadmap includes expanded content and identification of additional standardization needs not included in Version 1.0. ANSI is seeking user input regarding the use and effectiveness of the roadmap to assist in future work efforts.

ANSI's VP for Government Relations to Join WTO on Technical Barriers to Trade

On World Standards Day on October 14, 2020, Mary Saunders, vice president for government relations and public policy at ANSI will join experts during a webinar hosted by the World Trade Organization (WTO) to focus on use of the WTO Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee's six principles for developing international standards.

Building Guidelines of Emergency Medical Facilities for Respiratory Infectious Diseases

As the U.S. member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ANSI encourages its stakeholders to participate in virtual meetings for the development of an ISO International Workshop Agreement (IWA) on building guidelines for emergency medical facility for respiratory infectious diseases. Register for the virtual international workshops to develop an IWA by January 15, 2020

Weekly Update: Residential Building Guidance, Clinical Trial Phase 3, and Webcast on Healthcare Professionals

The ANSI Federation and standardization community are stepping up with guidance, resources, and initiatives to support public health, safety, and infrastructure during the COVID-19 outbreak. ANSI Releases Latest Issue of ANSI in China Newsletter

The ANSI International Policy department has released the 2020 third quarter edition of its ANSI in China Newsletter, available in English now. The quarterly newsletter updates ANSI members on technical activities, policy decisions, trade matters, and other information of interest. The English version of the newsletter is available exclusively to ANSI members.

How Can Credentials Close the COVID Divide?

Workcred's executive director, Roy Swift, Ph.D., recently joined panelists at a Certification Network Group (CNG) webinar to discuss how to elevate the visibility, relevance, and value of certifications to help close the pandemic divide. The webinar, "COVID: Certification’s Opportunity to Create Value in a Chaotic Work World," included academic and certification experts, and was the first in a series of programs the CNG is producing to address the challenges that the coronavirus has brought to bear for the U.S. workforce. 

IEC General Meeting Moved to Virtual Event; ISO Announces Virtual Meetings through December 31

The International Electrotechnical Commission Executive Committee (ExCo) has announced that in consideration of the worldwide pandemic and the current uncertainty to hold physical meetings with participants from all over the world, the 84th IEC General Meeting will take place online on Friday, November 13, 2020. The International Organization for Standardization also recently announced that, with the support of the ISO President’s Committee, measures to hold all meetings virtually will be extended to December 31, 2020.
