Step 4: Applicant Responds to All Comments

The applicant standards developer is required to respond to and attempt to resolve all comments received from the public and from the ANSI Executive Standards Council (ExSC) Subcommittee on Accreditation (SC-A).

Here's what you do

  • Review any public comments received within the review period (as indicated in the Standards Action announcement), and any comments received from the ExSC SC-A.
  • Send a written response directly to each public commenter.
  • Send a written response to any comments from the ExSC SC-A.
  • Your response(s) must demonstrate an attempt to resolve any comments received, as appropriate.
  • Your response(s) may include proposed revisions to your procedures to clarify an issue or correct an omission or misunderstanding.
  • The ExSC SC-A will not proceed to a final review or make a decision on your application until you have responded to all public comments.

Here's what you need to know

If, during the course of the accreditation process, you make a change to your originally submitted operating procedures or scope, an additional announcement may be published in Standards Action for another public review (the ExSC will decide whether the change requires another announcement).
