10/16/2026

SES – The Society for Standardization Professionals is hosting two professional development opportunities this fall: a four-part webinar series on getting the most value from standards participation, and an in-person workshop on mapping the standards landscape.

Webinar Series: Maximizing the Value and Impact of Standards Participation

This series offers practical strategies for aligning standards engagement with organizational goals, managing participation effectively, influencing future outcomes, and fostering ethical, consensus-based leadership.

Sessions take place from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. ET on Zoom:

  • October 30: Managing a Standards Portfolio Across Multiple SDOs, with Stephen Walls of Boeing and Megan Hayes of Schneider Electric
  • November 13: Aligning Standards Participation with Business Strategy and Demonstrating ROI
  • November 20: Using Standards Development to Influence Regulation and Shape the Marketplace
  • December 4: Influence, Consensus, and Ethics in Standards Leadership

All sessions will be recorded and shared with registrants, and each webinar counts for two points toward the SES Certification Program. Early bird pricing is available through October 30.

Register for the webinar series.

Workshop: Mapping the Standards Landscape – Techniques and Tools

Following demand from the 2026 SES Annual Conference, this workshop will offer practical techniques for researching and mapping a standards landscape, including identifying key stakeholders, active standards, related guidance, and potential gaps.

The standalone in-person event will be held on November 2, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. ET, at NEMA headquarters in Arlington, Virginia.

Speakers Christine DeJong Bernat of ANSI and Karen Reczek of NIST will share real-world examples of how landscape analyses support strategic planning and help align priorities across the standards community. A networking reception will follow the workshop.

Register for the workshop.

ANSI and SES maintain a Memorandum of Understanding to support and promote each other’s activities of mutual interest, and we are pleased to share information about these events with our members and stakeholders.
