Attention ANSI-Accredited U.S. Secretariats to ISO and ISO/IEC

12/18/2025

Compliance Forms Due by January 31, 2026

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and ANSI’s International Organization for Standardization Team (ISOT) wish to remind all ANSI-accredited U.S. Secretariats to ISO activities that a response to the recently distributed e-mail—which contained the 2025 Secretariat Annual Report—must be returned electronically no later than January 31, 2026, to ISOT ([email protected]).

Your feedback allows ANSI to better monitor the overall performance of U.S.-held ISO Secretariats. The information provided will assist ANSI in identifying trends across committees and industry sectors, and ensure that U.S. Committee Managers maintain effective relationships with their convenors, other ISO committees, and ISO staff. The results will be used to improve ANSI's training courses, develop future ANSI ISO Forum agendas, and focus outreach efforts.

New Format

The 2025 Secretariat Annual Report is being conducted electronically through Microsoft Forms, replacing the Word document attachments used in previous years. The new format will simplify the process for both ANSI staff and U.S. Secretariats, and is accessible by both web and mobile devices. U.S. Secretariats will be able to print a copy of the information submitted for their records.

Further Information

The relevant procedural reference is clause 1.7 ANSI Oversight of U.S. Secretariats to ISO Committees of the ANSI International Procedures (https://www.ansi.org/iso/us-representation-in-iso/international-procedures).

If your organization has been delegated the Secretariat for more than one ISO committee, a similar form has been sent to the staff contact on record with ANSI for the other ISO committee(s). Each delegated Secretariat is required to submit a 2025 Annual Report by January 31, 2026.

Review and Submission Process

Questions and extension requests should be directed to [email protected].

ANSI’s ISO Team ([email protected]) wishes to thank all ANSI-accredited U.S. Secretariats to ISO for their efforts throughout the year to ensure that the U.S. has a strong and effective voice in international standardization activities.
