Movers and Shakers highlights the career advancements and accomplishments of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) recently announced Daryl Hogg as its new vice president of information technology and infrastructure. Hogg serves as the operational leader of the IT function, ensuring business continuity through risk management, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity programs.

Hogg has more than 15 years of public and private sector experience in the IT field, most recently serving as the senior director of IT at the Emergency Nurses Association in Schaumburg, IL. In that role, he spearheaded a comprehensive IT strategy that integrated AI-driven tools and cloud-based platforms to optimize operational workflows and boost team productivity.

Prior to that, he was the chief technology officer at Torvity, an IT consulting firm headquartered in Chicago. There, he led technology audits for clients and implemented process improvements to streamline operations. He also delivered targeted technology solutions and enhanced client service delivery.

In his new role, Hogg will lead the execution of ASSP’s AI strategy, preparing for shifts in technology and cultivating an innovation pipeline that supports the Society’s future readiness.

“We’re excited to bring Daryl on board and we look forward to his valuable insights and contributions,” said CEO Jennifer McNelly. “Daryl will play a significant role as we continue to grow our technology capabilities and support more than 36,000 workplace safety and health professionals around the world.”

“This is a meaningful opportunity for me because the Society helps protect worker safety and health,” Hogg said. “I plan to help ASSP build on its long history of success.”

The Compressed Gas Association (CGA) recently announced the promotion of Paul Pflieger to senior director of strategic engagement and growth.

In his new role, Paul will lead CGA’s efforts to enhance member engagement, strengthen CGA’s brand, and drive meaningful growth. Previously, Pflieger was the director of marketing and communications at CGA.

“Paul has a remarkable ability to connect strategy with execution in ways that inspire action and deliver results,” said Rich Gottwald, CGA president and CEO. “His promotion reflects not only his outstanding contributions to CGA, but also our commitment to bold, forward-looking leadership. We’re excited to see how Paul will shape the next chapter of our growth.”
