SES to Host 2026 Annual Conference in Ottawa

5/01/2026

Standardization professionals across the U.S. and beyond will find a valuable opportunity for learning, collaboration, and connection at the 2026 Society for Standardization Professionals (SES) Annual Conference. The conference brings together experts and innovators from across industries under the theme Unlocking Possibility: Standards Without Borders.

Attendees can expect keynotes, practical workshops, and a wide range of sessions exploring the issues shaping the field today—including future-proofing standardization for global relevance, the growing role of generative AI in standards development, digital and machine-readable standards, harmonization across borders in sectors such as aerospace and emergency management, accessibility and inclusive design, cybersecurity and the EU Cyber Resilience Act, and engaging small and medium-sized enterprises in standards work.

ANSI’s Christine Bernat, director of standards facilitation, will speak at a June 2 pre-conference workshop on Mapping the Standards Landscape – Techniques and Tools. Alongside Karen Reczek of NIST, Bernat will provide tips and techniques for researching the current standards landscape in a specific field. Attendees will hear firsthand examples of how the standards community has successfully collaborated to identify priorities, needs, gaps, and strengthen alignment across stakeholders.

ANSI and SES maintain a Memorandum of Understanding to support and promote each other's activities of mutual interest, and we are pleased to share information about this event with our members and stakeholders. For the full agenda, registration details, and additional information, visit the 2026 SES Annual Conference website.
