Call for Interested Stakeholders on Data Center Standardization

7/30/2026

ANSI is seeking interested U.S. stakeholders to help inform a new standards coordination initiative being explored for data centers. Initial areas under consideration are:

  • Facility Infrastructure (design, construction, energy/power, cooling, operations)
  • Digital Infrastructure (networks, connectivity, cloud, security)
  • Technology & Innovation (supply chains, manufacturing, emerging technologies)
  • Governance, Sustainability & Workforce (regulatory/policy, community/social, training)

As part of this effort, ANSI would gather perspectives on standards development, coordination, adoption, and implementation. The initiative would identify emerging needs, evidence and data gaps, standards priorities, and opportunities for greater collaboration and alignment that can support progress across key technical, operational, and policy topics.

To express interest in shaping this effort or engaging with ANSI during these exploratory phases, complete the sign-up form. In addition to contact information, you may share information regarding any standardization opportunities and challenges in these areas.

Respondents will be contacted in the coming weeks for additional perspectives and updated as ANSI's next steps take shape.

Questions can be directed to Christine Bernat, ANSI director, standards facilitation ([email protected]).
